Packaging printing ink color allocation skills

In the process of packaging printing, no matter what kind of printing, multicolor or monochrome printing, the primary problem encountered before printing is the allocation of ink color, so often have to choose and allocate ink color. The allocation of ink color is the most important part in printing. The true reproduction of color directly affects the product quality and market share. In some large-scale enterprises, they not only have special dispensers, but also should do their best to satisfy customers. Below for you to explain how to mix ink color skills, to improve the quality of ink. Today, China paper network editor from the ink printing, detailed introduction of the relevant content.

Color matching principle

Any color by hue, lightness and saturation three characteristics, so in the process of color matching must consider the above three factors. Although black is technically a complete absorption of light, black ink is still shiny. Ink is made by grinding pigment (toner) and resin binder. The particles of the pigment are surrounded by a layer of nearly transparent resin oil, which refracts and reflects light, so that we can feel that the black ink still has a certain sheen on the substrate. Pigments usually occupy 8-35% of ink components, its dosage determines the concentration of ink, ink influence is very big, such as ink relative density, transparency, heat resistance, light resistance and resistance to chemicals. In the ink color matching process, according to the actual printing process, ink layer thickness, printing substrate and other conditions to determine the use of ink, in the choice of ink, the ink itself luster, color, coloring force, covering force.

1) Luster: luster can be measured with instruments, but also can be judged by the naked eye, usually in the process of color matching, only by the naked eye observation.

Gloss actually refers to the degree of the ability of ink printing sample to reflect light in the same direction after light exposure, which directly affects the appearance of the printing, is a very important indicator. At the same time, in the choice of ink to distinguish the ink itself is a light, half light or matte ink, should also consider whether the same ink, such as in the printing ink or table printing ink. Must be allocated for the same kind of ink, to avoid mixing errors, causing unnecessary losses.

2) Hue is the basic feature of color and is used for qualitative distinction. When matching colors, the first consideration is whether the color phase is consistent. The detection method is usually by scraping the color of the sample paper or simulating printing. The standard and sample are observed and compared with the human eye.

3) Covering power is the extent to which ink covers its background color. The better the cover, the worse the transparency, transparency affects the ink color efficiency and the degree of influence by the printing substrate.

4) Tinting force is a method to show the high and low ink concentration, the determination is a certain amount of ink and then add a certain amount of standard white ink dilution and mix, and then compared with the standard sample, the tinting force reflects the degree of the ink color mixing affects the thickness of the printing film. Through the color identification (scratch paper scratch test), you can compare the ink sample and the standard sample in gloss, hue, covering power three aspects of the difference.

The specific method is as follows: put standard ink in the upper left corner of the identification paper, put color matching ink in the upper right corner, with a scraper at a nearly vertical Angle with the scraping paper to flatten the thin application part and with a light force at an inclined Angle to quickly develop the thick application part. After the ink surface drying, you can observe the ink color in the thin part, in the black belt part of the identification of ink covering power, transparency; In the thick application part to judge the difference between the gloss and observe the overall color appearance, usually black and color ink using white scratch paper, while white ink using black scratch paper.

When observing the color sample, it is better to compare it with indirect indoor light source in the daytime and avoid direct sunlight. When viewing the sample at night, it is recommended to use fluorescent lamps and color temperature 5000¡À200 -- K for color evaluation, or to use homemade mixed light sources: 3 fluorescent lamps with 6500K400W, 2 blue fluorescent lamps with 20W, and 6 tungsten filament lamps with 100W, which can be fixed in the special cover, mainly to facilitate the observation of the color sample.

Notes for color matching

1) Carefully observe the color sample, pay special attention to the substrate being printed, and select the ink based on the roughness and smooth reflection of the substrate. For example, ink printed on a highly reflective aluminum plate or can, choose high transparency ink, will help greatly enhance the metallic luster of the ink.

2) select the color ink, as far as possible avoid mixed too much ink, use as far as possible close to the standard color and made from a single pigment inks, color using the color too much, the farther from the standard color, brightness is the worse, mix out the higher the degree of the color of the matte, color is impossible to modulation primary colors, so can use two kinds of mixed color, need not three, less is better.

3) Pay special attention to ink coloring power. If the selected ink concentration is not high enough, no matter how to mix, can not reach the standard color concentration.

4) When white and black ink is needed, special attention should be paid to the added weight and the accuracy of weighing. In all inks, white ink has a strong covering power. Too much white ink will not only dilute the color, but also prevent the reflection degree of the substrate. However, for printing uneven substrate such as nylon cloth, cardboard, in order to ensure the appearance of the printing product is best to print a layer of white as the background color. Because the black ink coloring force is particularly strong, slightly careless, and add too much, you need to add a considerable amount of other ink to adjust the color, resulting in waste, so you need to pay special attention to.

5) the production of light ink, should be judged from the transmittance of the ink film to add how much white ink or ink blending oil (diluent) for toning. It is absolutely not allowed to dilute the solvent (dilution water) for the color, the solvent added too much, not only will affect the printing performance, but also will destroy the ink structure, causing pigment and resin oil separation, precipitation or greatly reduce the gloss and brightness of the ink.
